Motion Control

LuxFlux Linear Stage

Connection Phase

Select the configuration parameter for the stepper motor of the stage (defauls shown)

Parameters:

  1. The maximum speed the stage will have during operation

  2. The maximum acceleration the stage will have when moving

  3. The speed of the stage during the reference run

  4. The maximum motor current, higher means more current. Increase the value if the stage gets stuck or does not start at an end position

  5. At stand still, there’s still a minimum current to prevent movement. The higher the current, the stronger the holding force

  6. Stall detection detects if the stage “bumps” into an end position or into an object on the way. Keep the value as low as possible for safety reasons and high enough the that stage does not stop while moving.

  7. If the speed falls below this value during operation, treat it as a stall and stop the motor

Referencing Run

After pressing OK, the software tries to connect to the stage. Once it finds it, it starts a referencing run. During the referencing run, the stage moves to each end position and then to the center.

After the referencing run, you can change a few parameters during operation

  1. Adjust the speed during movement and recording

  2. The number of steps if you press the small step button in live view

  3. The number of steps if you press the large step button in live view

  4. Use this button if the direction of travel of the stage and in the software are in opposite directions
